The Ray of Hope

Ever since I was just a little kid, I'd look up at an image like this and imagine that those beautiful rays of light were escaping from Heaven above, rays poking through the clouds coming direct from His throneroom!!

I don't know about you, but dark and dreary/rainy days bring me down. I'm normally fairly bright and cheerful, but too many days of dark and dreary result in a very dark and dreary me. I discovered that the reason for this is the lack of vitamin D actually has a direct effect on our mood, our brains ability to regulate our serotonin (the hormone that makes us happy). So being out in the sun on a glorious day is scientifically proven to make people happier.

So although I'm older and wiser and know that the image above is caused by the sun shining through the clouds, it invokes such feelings of hope and joy in me. My God - who created the sun to beam down on us, who designed our bodies to thrive in the light, who placed the Earth the exact distance from the sun that it is to incubate life, that same God also created the cloud formations and the sunlight to ensure that every so often, we get to experience an image like this, to remind us that it truly is the Heavens shining through on us.

Hope and joy come from knowing that there is Someone out there who is greater than you. Hope and joy come from a ray of light that says that there is Someone in control.  I draw my strength and my hope from images like these that remind me of the One in whom I put my trust.

God bless you today!

Feeling so Significant!

The Apollo 8 Mission Image Archives included this photograph taken from the shuttle of the Earth rising from the moon's surface. I stand in awe of how small and insignificant the earth appears from the nearest object to our planet. Then I am reminded of how our Lord God and Saviour created all of this that we experience on a day to day basis, simply for the delight of His creation to find Him. He made the earth, the atmosphere, gravity, the water cycle, the temperature of the earth, the animals and plants that spring forth from it, our ability to procreate, our bodies to heal from injury - ALL of this for you and me!

I often delight in the idea that despite knowing the beginning from the end and all the juicy details in between, that my Lord STILL chose to create the human race!! He knew exactly what path the human race would take (from the very first generation), He knew the great cost that was going to be paid in order to reconcile us back to Him, He knew every single thing that I would and wouldn't do and yet He still chose to create all of this.

All I can comprehend, is that He must take extreme pleasure, oh the joy that must flow from his heart when one single solitary human recognises Him as Lord and Saviour, that it would be worth it all for just one of His creation to choose from our own free will to follow Him, worship Him and adore Him!

How Great Is Our God!

Bless you

Welcome to My Blog!

The purpose of this blog is to display in all its glory, just how we as human beings can see and find the Lord God in His very own creation.  I have found myself in tears and often awestruck by the majesty and beauty of images I find on the internet or quotes or poems written by people which uplift and inspire me.

Far from the doldrums of everyday life, the tragedy of daily news reporting and often the sad and sometimes annoying grumblings from everyday people, I love to sit and stare at images that make me connect with the one true Living God, how the beauty of nature, or an expression on a persons face, the smooth unblemished skin of a new born baby, how all these wonderful things connect me to my Creator.

I have much to be thankful for and I hope this blog will remind you as often as I visit it, that we are Loved Beyond Comprehension! That He created all of this for our eyes to see and our hearts to experience. I pray this blog will be uplifting, encouraging and a bright spot in your day to day.

Oh taste and see that the Lord is good!! Marvel in His Majesty and be Thankful for what He has done for you!

Blessings
